In tactical communications, outside broadcast, industrial, mining, marine, and offshore environments, Expanded Beam technology is often the preferred choice thanks to its resistance to contamination, vibration, and harsh operating conditions. However, connecting these rugged field-deployed systems to equipment using standard commercial interfaces can often require specialized cabling or complex integration.

The JCON adapter solves this challenge by combining a MIL-DTL-83526 compliant Expanded Beam Junior interface with a rear adapter plate supporting standard commercial connectors. This makes it easy to connect rugged deployable fiber systems directly to switches, media converters, patch panels, and other network equipment using readily available patch cords.

By combining the robustness of Expanded Beam technology with the flexibility of standard fiber optic interfaces, the JCON Adapter provides a reliable and cost-effective way to integrate field-deployed networks with existing fiber infrastructure while simplifying installation, operation, and maintenance.
